How we got here
The story behind Little Hero Stories
A bedtime idea
It started with a bedtime routine. We wanted a story that starred our daughter — not a generic princess or a fictional character, but her: her name, her obsession with dinosaurs, her courage when things got hard. We tried writing one ourselves. It took hours, and even then there were no illustrations.
The AI moment
That's when it clicked. Modern AI had quietly become remarkable — it could write beautifully, illustrate magically, and personalize it completely. We spent evenings prototyping, testing stories on our kids, refining the prompts, tuning the illustration styles. Every time a child heard their name in a story, their face lit up.
Building for every family
We built Little Hero Stories so every parent could give their child that same feeling: opening a book and seeing themselves as the hero. No design skills needed. No waiting weeks for a custom order. Just a few details about your child, and in under two minutes — a real, illustrated picture book starring them.

We use Google's Gemini AI — one of the most capable language models in the world — to write each story. It's given detailed instructions about your child's age, interests, and the values we want every story to carry: kindness, courage, curiosity, and a happy ending.
Illustration
Each illustration is generated by fal.ai's image generation models, tuned to produce whimsical, age-appropriate picture-book art. Your chosen style (storybook, watercolor, comic, and more) shapes every image from cover to last page.
Privacy by design
Stories and images are stored securely in your private account. Only stories you choose to share are ever made public. We never use your child's information to train AI models or for any purpose beyond creating your story.
